The review process

A representative of Chord Capital Ltd (the fund manager) will normally be on campus each month. Please contact your Technology Transfer Office to arrange an initial meeting. Chord Capital Ltd will arrange to send someone with relevant scientific knowledge to this meeting.

Chord Capital Ltd will undertake due diligence on the technology. It may be necessary to commission a specific market study. Your technology transfer office will help you with this.

Chord Capital Ltd will then review the commercialisation strategy, in particular the choice between licensing the technology or creating a spin out company.

Chord Capital Ltd may then offer the inventor a term sheet which sets out the conditions to be satisfied before an investment will be made, and explains the return the Cascade Fund requires for its investment.

Chord Capital Ltd is a discretionary Fund Manager and makes investment decisions on behalf of the Cascade Board. It is fully responsible for decision making on Stimulus Applications. It consults with the Cascade Board on Growth Applications.

The Cascade Board can approve, seek further clarification or reject the recommendation of the Fund Manager on Growth Applications.

The Cascade Board will be notified of all Stimulus Funding activity.
